Ophthalmic Vitrectomy Knife

The ophthalmic vitrectomy knife is a core medical device in minimally invasive ophthalmic surgeries, mainly used for removing diseased vitreous tissue and treating severe ocular diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, and macular holes.
The vitrectomy knife precisely removes cloudy or sclerotic vitreous in the eye through a high-speed reciprocating cutting head. The cutting head is usually composed of two layers: the outer layer is fixed, and the inner layer moves rapidly to form a shear force, drawing in and cutting the vitreous tissue, while the negative pressure system discharges the debris out of the body.
Main models include 20G (0.9mm), 23G (0.6mm), 25G (0.5mm), and 27G (0.4mm).
